Fair Chance Works Wins KSEF microAward to Advance Workforce Innovation

The Kentucky Science and Engineering Foundation (KSEF), an initiative of the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation (KSTC), is pleased to announce Fair Chance Works PBC as the winner of its latest microAwards Pitch Competition.
Through the microAwards Pitch Competition, Kentucky innovators present their ideas to a panel of judges for an opportunity to receive up to $5,000 in early-stage funding. The program helps companies refine their innovations and prepare for future federal funding opportunities through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
Advancing Workforce Innovation
Fair Chance Works is developing ROIHire™, an employer-facing workforce decision-support platform designed to address challenges in hiring and workforce development for people in recovery and others facing barriers to employment.
By combining workforce data, available hiring incentives and predictive analytics, ROIHire aims to help employers identify potential job matches, improve employee retention and better understand the financial implications of hiring decisions. The platform also seeks to connect more jobseekers with employment opportunities by making workforce resources easier for employers to navigate.
Supporting the Next Steps
For Fair Chance Works, the microAward marks another step toward bringing ROIHire's potential to life. As the company continues to developing its technology and exploring future federal funding opportunities, its work reflects the kind of innovation KSEF seeks to support: promising ideas with the potential to address real-world challenges and make a difference for Kentuckians.
KSEF congratulates Fair Chance Works on its achievement and looks forward to seeing how ROIHire progresses in its mission to improve hiring practices and connect more people with employment opportunities!
